Alexander Springs

Back to the forest. Back to the offroading. Back to nowhere. A quick weekend getaway with a friend, during which we had encounters with only a handful of critters and animals, wild rainbow people, and of course the lovely spring.

We managed to arrive to the campsite before sunset, which was perfectly situated right by the bathrooms and perfectly shaded from the sun. My “humble” set up was the tent on the right. Definitely a good tent, but will be looking into something lighter and with a less footprint. We also brought along with us some wood that I harvested about two years ago in the same forest.

My pride and joy. I was like a little kid in a toy store when I found this piece of Yellow Pine, thought of making a 2×4, but eventually got lost in the endless things to do. It went to good use though

As for the food part, we shopped at a local supermarket in Miami… specifically little Havana before heading out; and no, we didn’t buy that thing… lol.

Not as much wildlife was observed as I thought there would be. I can imagine after the pandemic as more people flocked to the forest, the critters hid from us animals.

During the trip, I managed to pull a dive inside the spring, no pics sorry, did some archery practice at the pit, joined an off road group, and hiked a 6mile trail at lake Apopka.

Quote of the trip: “Females are the only warm blooded reptile”
