Emotions.
We all have them, yet we live in a society who unconsciously teaches us to repress some and exaggerate others. But why? Why does a young boy get scolded on by his peers for crying or woman told to be quiet in situations that deserve more than a standing ovation. Chef Yukimura once said: “instead of selling meals, I consider it a business of selling dreams”. During a video made of his restaurant, the chef was clearly ecstatic about showing off his dishes and even the techniques used. His happiness was based off the customers happiness. This chef wanted to deliver a show, a dream, featuring common ingredients, cooked with passion.
As a common citizen of the world I go against the current. As a man I cry when I need to, laugh when I want to, and scream when it’s necessary. There is a time appointed for everything as the Bible says. Why limit yourself to the wonderful emotions one can experience in life? Isn’t this a society that teaches to do what you want? So why live by standards and questionable judgments that this world offers?
Emotions, just like seasoning, are very much needed in life. Some must be controlled, but all must be experienced. After all, is it life, if you just eat the same thing everyday with the same seasoning?
